Selection International Red Wines

These 6 to 8 week wine kits showcase varieties from the great wine-producing countries of the world.

Australian Cabernet/Shiraz (0)

The blend that made Australia famous.  Cabernet Sauvignon's structural intensity perfectly complements the ripe fruit and chocolate flavours of Shiraz, fir a rich, complex and hearty red wine of outstanding character.  Big, bold and dark -- a luxurious treat.

Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon (0)

Our Chilean version of this classic boasts black pepper and berry bouquets.  Notably flavourful, with tannins that develop with age.  Pairs well with beef, turkey, lamb and stews.

Chilean Merlot (0)

Powerful fruit and spice flavour, with mellow tannins for a supple finish.  Deserves ageing, but will develop quicker than Cabernet Sauvignon and will stand up to the same food pairings.

French Cabernet Sauvignon (0)

The world's most renowned red wine, from the world's most renowned wine country.  Deep , ruby red colour, with characteristic fruit intensity balanced by strong tannins which, with the addition of premium French oak, results in a wine of rich complexity, fully realised with age.

French Merlot (0)

Direct from the vineyards of southern France, this classic varietal is rich with ripe fruit and berry flavours, yet soft and elegant.  Dry, full-bodied and deeply coloured, with a complex velvety taste accentuated with premium French oak.

French Syrah (0)

The noble French red grape varietal, know for its rich, dark, powerful wines which, despite their tannins and famous ageing potential, can reach a drinkably mature stage quite soon.  Know as Shiraz in Australia, French Syrah displays complex berry and spice flavours that go perfectly with hearty foods.

Italian Barbaresco (0)

Named for the village in Italy's Piedmont region, recognised worldwide for its big, powerful red wines, full of tannins in their youth, yet ageing into wines of wonderful complexity, with a balance of lush aromas, robust fruit flavours, and a dry, full finish.  Similar in style to its Barolo cousin, yet more elegant and refined.

Italian Montepulciano (0)

Montepulciano is a vigorous red grape variety widely planted over much of east-central Italy, capable of creating deeply-coloured, rich, red wines with blackberry fruit flavours and spicy, peppery qualities.  Due to its moderate acid and firm tannin levels, Montepluciano generally produces wines that are smooth and mellow yet robust and mouth-filling, with dependably high alcohol content.  Superb with veal and pasta -- an Italian gem you won't want to miss.

Spanish Rioja (0)

Spain's most famous red wine blend, and arguably its finest.  The wines of this northern Spanish region tend towards the traditional Bordeaux style, combining bright berry and spice flavours, deep red colours with a solid backup of tannin, with premium oak for a soft, dry vanilla finish.  Delightful when aged.
